“This sense of disconnection and alienation hovers over the narrative and the often-bemoaned ‘mood over plot’ sensibility works well here, aided by a brilliantly cautious and mournful jazz score composed by Clive Raven, which complements dark shots of rain-sprayed windows, traffic lights and blue sirens. “

It also really beautifully shot with the constant rolling background being the artificially lit streets of London by neon signs, traffic and street lights. When you take into account that this all takes place on a bus, it’s an impressive achievement. This coupled with an evocative and poignant score makes Night Bus an assured debut from Simon Baker.”
